The advent of AI has fundamentally changed the way I have searched for interesting PDFs and YouTube videos for the past 15 years. With the free version of Perplexity.ai, it is now much easier to find relevant PDFs tailored to specific searches. It is also a useful tool for discovering new YouTube videos.
A second interesting programme for collecting information is NotebookLM.google. In this free app, your old PDFs / YouTube videos that you have collected in the past can also be used as sources. The collection of these sources can be used alongside the new PDFs collected with Perplexity to get a more accurate, in-depth research in NotebookLM.
In the latest version of NotebookLM, you can also directly request new sources to be processed along with all existing sources.
In Perplexity.ai, NotebookLM.google and gemini, you can ask for the answer to be translated into your language, for example, Kinyarwanda (language of Rwanda – Africa).
